Rotate, flip and straighten photos in your browser

About this tool

Image Rotator is a free image editing tool that rotates JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC photos by 90° increments, mirrors them horizontally or vertically, or applies a precise free angle from -180° to +180° at 0.1° resolution for straightening tilted shots. Embedded EXIF orientation is auto-corrected on load, the canvas expands to avoid cropping, and the same setting can be applied to a queue of files with ZIP download.

How to use

  1. Add images. Drop JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC files into the upload area, or click to choose photos from your device.
  2. Pick a quick rotation or fine angle. Tap one of the 90° buttons for a quick rotation, or drag the slider for any precise angle from -180 to +180 degrees. Use the flip buttons to mirror left-right or top-bottom.
  3. Check the live preview. The preview canvas updates in real time so you can confirm the rotation before applying it to every file in the queue.
  4. Apply and download. Run the rotation, then download a single result or save several rotated images as a ZIP archive.

FAQ

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Decoding, rotation and re-encoding all run inside your browser. Files never leave your device.

Does it support free angles, not just 90°?

Yes. The fine angle slider supports any value from -180 to +180 degrees with 0.1° precision, ideal for straightening tilted photos.

What happens to the corners when I rotate by an angle that is not a multiple of 90°?

The output canvas expands to fit the rotated image so nothing is cropped. JPG outputs fill the corners with white, while PNG and WebP keep the corners transparent.

Will EXIF orientation be applied automatically?

Yes. Photos with embedded EXIF orientation (common for iPhone shots) are loaded upright before any manual rotation, so the preview matches what you see in your gallery.

Does HEIC work?

HEIC and HEIF files are decoded inside the browser and saved as JPG after rotation. Some rare HEIC variants may fail on mobile browsers due to memory limits.

Can I apply the same rotation to many images at once?

Yes. Add as many files as you want — the chosen rotation, flip and angle are applied to every file in the queue and you can download them individually or as a ZIP.

How do I rotate an image without installing software?

Use this tool directly in your browser — no download, no account, no upload. Drop your image, pick a quick 90° rotation or a precise free angle, and download the result instantly.
